HEATHER BLUE-BELIEU, MUSIC LEADER/BELLS
My name is Heather. I have been the Director of the Crescendo Bell Choir at Covenant since 2013. The Covenant bell program includes an adult bell choir and a children’s bell choir which was started in 2016. The Crescendo Bell Choir is made up of adults with varying abilities starting from those who do not read music and never rang to members who have been ringing for years. The group is volunteer and plays in worship once a month from September through May. The children’s bell choir is open to all youth and children and plays twice a year in a Sunday service.
I have been playing bells for over 20 years. I received my Music Education Degree from Drake University. I have previously assisted with children’s bells at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines.
I work for the Winterset School District as a special education teacher serving students grades 7-12. In addition to my music education degree, I also hold endorsements in special education, reading, and coaching. I coach the Winterset Color Guard and Winter Guard. I live with my husband, Nic, and daughter, Stella, in Winterset.
