Covenant Church is a Reformed faith congregation governed in the Presbyterian PCUSA tradition through its elders who are church members elected by the congregation. The Session is the name of the governing board and it is moderated by the pastor.
The Session ensures a welcome of all persons who trust in God’s grace in Jesus Christ, oversees the sacraments of Communion and Baptism, supports the ministry effort of the church through the Session’s committees and guides the church in its witness of God at work through Jesus Christ in fulfilling the Great Ends of the Church.
The Great Ends of the Church are: providing the Word of God is truly preached and heard; the sacraments are rightly administered and received; and the nurture of the community as disciples of Christ.
