Welcome to Covenant Presbyterian Church of West Des Moines, located at the intersection of 28th Street and Ashworth Road in West Des Moines!
Covenant is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and has been in ministry since 1957, celebrating its 60th year of ministry in 2017. We offer opportunities for people of all ages as an open and welcoming community in order to grow in faith, hope and discipleship. Our Sunday worship service is one marked by Christian tradition yet incorporating the advantages of modern technology. Children and youth are always welcome in our services! Concurrent with the worship hour on Sundays, we do offer a staffed nursery allowing families the option to either worship together or choose to have children experience Sunday worship in an alternative way that will still enrich their young lives.
Our Wednesday evening program called Covenant Kids provides music, crafts, Bible lessons and activities for our children, and for our youth study, fellowship and service to the great community in the form of our youth group. On Wednesday evenings, our choirs (from voice to bell ringing), build on strengthening their musical preparation for worship.
Knowing faith is more than what is professed but also what is practiced, our mission as a community of faith is one noted for the encouragement and the challenge to our members, visitors and friends about their discipleship to Jesus Christ. Our music ministry, Christian education for children, youth and adults, and our small group fellowships at Covenant seek to support the members, friends and visitors of Covenant and invite them into deeper faith experiences with fellow sojourners.
Covenant is staffed by individuals uniquely qualified for their particular positions and who work diligently in supporting the efforts of the members, friends and visitors.
