Laura Schieber, CHRISTIAN EDucation director
Hello! My name is Laura Schieber and I am the Christian Education Director at Covenant Presbyterian Church. I have been in this position since the spring of 2014. Christian Education has been a part of my life ever since I can remember. I grew up in a strong faith family, always participating in church activities and volunteering when opportunity knocked. My favorite memories are getting to wear my fancy shoes to Sunday school as a small girl, helping with Bible school as a pre-teen, and gathering with teens from other schools through our youth group events.
I am excited to help make memories of all types for the children and youth at Covenant. I know that church must be fun and exciting to keep the interest of those that attend and I strive to do just that. I aim to bring a strong faith message in ways that generate big picture thinking and self-awareness. Having Jesus in our hearts is more than memorizing Bible verses; it is living the Word in simple, every day interactions.
I grew up in Nevada, IA and moved to Fenton, MO in high school. I returned to Iowa to attend Iowa State University where I double majored in Transportation/Logistics and Production Operation Management with a minor in Political Science. I lived in Seattle and Chicago before making my “forever” home in Windsor Heights with my husband and three kids.
