Celebrating Covenant's
San Isidro Students for 2017!
Covenant Presbyterian Church is proud and honored to be able to offer education scholarships to the youth in San Isidro, El Salvador. In San Isidro, the school year starts in January and goes into November. Scholarships applications are accepted every year and paid out by semester.
Each of the student families in San Isidro that applied this year received a $200 scholarship from Covenant (in two installments of $100) to attend school beyond the six grades offered in San Isidro's Village School. Scholarship students walk to school in surrounding villages for class or may live in the city of Berlin with relatives and attend classes at a campus there. (Berlin is like a county seat for the surrounding villages). For a youth in this community, continuing education beyond sixth grade requires a large commitment from both students and their families. These scholarships will be used for tuition, books, and lodging expenses.
If you are a Covenant partner family, check the list to see if any of these students are members of your family. Please keep all these students and their families in your prayers.
